Welcome

Created in February 2005 on the initiative of the former Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literature of the University of Genoa (now Department of Modern Languages and Cultures), Ce.R.Te.M. (Centro di Ricerca in Terminologia Multilingue, Multilingual Terminology Research Center) is an interdepartmental and inter-university center. It also involves the Department of Political Sciences, the Department of Italian, Roman, Antics, Arts and Drama Studies, and professors of Italian, Foreign Languages and Literature (Arabic, English, French, German, Russian, Spanish), and General Linguistics belonging to different Departments, Research Institutions, and foreign Universities. The creation of Ce.R.Te.M. derives from the desire of professors, researchers, PhD students, and IT specialists from different scientific-disciplinary sectors to gather the joint research in the terminology field that has been carried out since 1996 in the educational context of the MA in Translation and Interpreting (old system) on the Acqui Terme branch campus. Ce.R.Te.M. has been a member of Ass.I.Term (Associazione Italiana per la Terminologia, Italian Terminology Association) since 2005 and Realiter (Rete Terminologica Panlatina, Pan-Latin Terminology Network) since 2009. The Center also maintains regular exchange and collaboration relations with other national and international organizations working in the field, including: For the University of Genoa students, Ce.R.Te.M. organizes terminology training activities, educational trips and terminographic editing projects, which are available in the Glossaries section. It also welcomes trainees both from the University of Genoa and from other athenaeums.
